Description
The car has more recently raced at vintage events in the US, including the 2012 Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival at Sonoma Raceway in California. The car is finished in red with white #26 roundels over a black interior and is powered by an Alfa Romeo twin-cam inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes a roll bar, OMP bucket seats, finned front drum brakes, twin Weber carburetors, a custom exhaust system, an onboard fire-suppression system, and a fabricated aluminum fuel tank. This Giulietta Sprint Veloce race car is now offered at no reserve in California on dealer consignment with a copy of an RTL GP Magazine article from the Netherlands featuring the Alfa Romeo Historic Racing Team and a bill of sale. The body is finished in red with white #26 roundels and a white nose stripe. Preparations for competition use included removing the front and rear bumpers, removing the lower body moldings, adding front and rear tow hooks, and installing plexiglass rear quarter windows. The selling dealer notes several paint chips, some indications of previous body repairs, and evidence of front end sheet metal replacement based on welds visible on the inside of the panels. 15? steel wheels are finished in white and wrapped in 5. 00-15? Hoosier Vintage TD tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums that have been modified for racing with finned front drums.
