Description

The car was then reconditioned with a cleaning of the fuel system, refresh of the brakes, and a repaint in the original Irish Green. Photos document a rebuild of the 1600cc flat-four to stock specifications, and the 5-speed manual transmission was fitted with a new clutch. Bumpers, lights, molding, and glass were removed for a repaint in the original Irish Green (6606). During the repaint, the fenders were left in place to preserve the factory gaps. The factory wheels and have been polished and were fitted with period-correct Coker tires around 1,200 miles ago. Photos of the car from before the repaint are included at the end of the gallery. Seats, seatbelts, headliner, and carpets are reportedly original and have worn well. No rips or tears are evident in the upholstery, though the seats would benefit from re-padding. The headrests are no longer with the car. While the dash shows some waviness, no cracks are apparent. The simple three-gauge instrument panel is easy to decipher behind the four-spoke steering wheel. Carpeting has deteriorated around the driverâ??s left footwell as can be seen in the photo above. The factory Blaupunkt AM/FM radio powers a single dash speaker. The odometer currently reads 12,240 miles is believed to have rolled once, but true mileage is unknown. The 1600cc flat-four was pulled and rebuilt after the fuel system was cleaned. The clutch has been replaced and the claimed-original Solex carburetors were rebuilt and tuned. According to the CoA, this car was sold new with a 5-speed manual 902 transaxle. Photos in the gallery document the engine rebuild, as well as the state of the motor before and during its teardown. Underneath, the vehicle is in unrestored condition with no repairs or damage displayed. An included Porsche CoA confirms the interior and exterior colors and lists the engine number as #747325. The photo of the engine stamping above displays #747323. Documentation is not amended by Porsche to correct such an anomaly. Photos following the documentation in the gallery show the car prior to its repaint.
