1959 MG MGA Twin Cam Roadster

This 1959 MGA Twin Cam roadster was delivered new in Germany, imported to the US in March 1959 through the Port of New York, and reportedly used for road racing in the Milwaukee area early in its life before a period of storage. Equipment includes Dunlop knock-off wheels, a luggage rack, a replacement blue vinyl soft top, and a heater. Dunlop knock-off 16� wheels are wrapped in SP20 A/S Metric tires all around. The Twin Cam was equipped with Dunlop disc brakes at all four corners from the factory. The cockpit was reupholstered in red vinyl with a matching dash and door panels as part of the 2000 work according to the selling dealer. Amenities include racing-style lap belts and a heater with a windshield defroster. A North American MGA Register plaque listing car number 5551 is affixed to the dash. Instrumentation framed by a banjo-spoke steering wheel consists of a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 12k miles, with total mileage unknown. The 1,588cc inline-four features twin overhead camshafts and dual SU H6 carburetors, and was factory-rated at 108 horsepower with 104 lb-ft of torque when new.
