Description

1969 MUSTANG BOSS 302 CONVERTIBLE TRAMS-AM SERIES TRIBUTE The top is the original and is in good shape for its age. The prior owner was a retired Police officer, he restored the car over the period of several years. It has a great look that you don't see on many of the 69 Mustang convertibles. If Ford would have made a Boss 302 Convertible, this is what it would have looked like. One 1968 Camaro Z-28 Convertible was built, this was a direct violation of the official TRANS AM SCCA rules. All Pony cars of the 1967 and up TRANS AM SERIES were regular factory production cars. The PONY CARS of the day were Camaro Z-28, 302 BOSS MUSTANG, AMC JAVELIN, AAR CUDA, Dodge Challenger, Mercury Cougar . Pontiac Firebird. All competing Factory Production Cars had to be Hardtops, 4 sp, under 305 cubic inches in the beginning of the TRANS AM SERIES from 1967-69. 500 cars of each Manufacturer had to be built to compete. NO CONVERTIBLES WERE ALLOWED. The 1968 Camaro Z-28 Convertible, that was built was keep secret for over 20 years. It was built special for Peter Estates then General Manager of GM in honor of him giving the Camaro its name for their new PONY CAR, to compete with the MUSTANG. In 1969 if Ford would have built a Boss 302 in convertible, it would have been a tremendous success. This is a tribute to what a Boss 302 convertible could have been. The builder of this car had a vision, and we believe he fully accomplished his goal. Beautiful five year old, complete frame up restoration. 302 four barrel engine. Brand new custom interior. New paint. Almost every piece of exterior and interior trim is new. New tires and wheels. Shaker hood. You can show this car, take it to cruises, and just drive and enjoy it. Runs and drives as well as it looks. Turns heads wherever it goes. This is an opportunity to own a unique, investment quality custom that would be a valuable addition to any collection.
