Description
Year: 1960s Make: Panhard Model:BT Power comes from an 848cc flat-twin that drives the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle, and additional equipment includes aluminum exterior brightwork, 15â? wheels, an independent leaf-spring front suspension, a torsion-bar rear suspension, and a single carburetor. The PL17 debuted in 1959, and the letters were dropped from the model designation for the penultimate 1964 model year. The side markers were also revised along with the aluminum exterior trim and bumpers. White 15â? steel wheels wear full covers and are mounted with 155-series Sport IV tires. The independent front suspension features upper and lower transverse leaf springs, while the rear setup incorporates trailing arms with roller-bearing pivots and triple torsion bars on each side as well as a V-shaped axle located laterally by a center bushing. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners. The seats have been reupholstered in houndstooth cloth and tan vinyl, and lap belts are provided for front occupants. The door panels are covered in red vinyl, and appointments include black carpets, textured aluminum sill trim, multiple storage compartments, and a bright metal panel on the dashboard with a gold Relmax emblem. Discoloration is noted on the headliner. The two-spoke steering wheel frames a sweeping 160-km/h speedometer with an inset ammeter and fuel level gauge, while a Jaeger tachometer is mounted in the center of the dash.
