Description

This 1969 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that was built in March 1969 and dispatched to British Leyland of New York the following May. It received exterior and interior color changes over the course of a 1989–1990 refurbishment completed by Reuters Coach Works in Connecticut and was given a mechanical recommissioning by Talacrest of Surrey, England in 1994 that included an engine overhaul, braking and suspension updates, and more. The numbers-matching 4. 2-liter inline-six is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox. Close-up photos of the paint and trim are provided in the gallery, along with images of the tan convertible top and the optional body-color hardtop. Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels secured with two-eared knock-off hubs wear Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is managed by four-wheel discs. A period Pioneer cassette radio is linked to speakers fitted within the center stack, and lap belts are provided for both occupants. A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts factory Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 88k miles, approximately 50 of which have been added by the selling dealer. Paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, the twin-cam 4.
