1966 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto

In addition to the full refresh of the body and interior, the 1600cc engine was rebuilt with new pistons and liners, bearings and rebuilt Weber DCOE 27s. Suspension and brakes were redone at the same time with new bushings, rotors, and calipers from a later 1750. The interior features a new dash and upholstery and benefits from a restored wiring harness and LED instrument lighting. Delivered new to Vancouver, Canada in December of 1966, the two-year restoration was completed in 2017. The new Pine Green (AR216) paintwork has replaced the factory Ivory finish. The new soft top remains fully operational and shows a clear rear window. The project was started in 2015 and was well-documented on AlfaBB. The body was treated to a bare metal blast and followed by the incorporation of new rockers, floors, and rear wings. Interior work included the installation of a new dash, door cards and seat upholstery. Updates to the electrical system include a restored wiring harness, LED dash lights and new bulbs for all exterior lights. The 1600cc DOHC inline-four has been fully rebuilt with new pistons and liners, bushings, and bearings and fitted with a pair of rebuilt Weber DCOE 27 carburetors. An electronic ignition replaces the factory setup. The suspension was completely refreshed with new bushings, and bearings. Brakes have been updated with larger 1750 ATE components consisting and accompanied by new spindles, rotors, stainless steel hard lines, and a new master cylinder.
