Description

This 1977 Porsche 911 Targa was purchased by the selling dealer in November 2015 and has since been customized throughout. Originally delivered in Ice Green Metallic over Black Leatherette with Green Tartan inlays, the car has been partially backdated and professionally refinished in the factory color using a sample of the original paint as a guide. The 2. DriverSource Fine Motorcars of Houston, Texas is now offering this 911 with an extensive file of restoration pictures, build receipts, dyno sheets, a Porsche CoA, and a clean Texas title. The CoA confirmed the unique options, and based on the original colors and overall condition, the build was initiated. The body was taken to its bare shell with the removal of all trim, rubber, glass, the impact bumpers, side rockers, and the driverâ??s mirror. An EB Motorsports narrow SCRS bumper was installed up front, while the rear received a 1973 RS backdate unit from GT Racing. The engine lid received the polished treatment as well with a 1970-1971 grille and model designation delete as specified on the CoA. A 1973 driverâ??s mirror, license plate lights, and bracket are fitted along with SWB wipers, new door handles, and European lenses. 17Ã?7â? and 17Ã?8â? Fuchs-style wheels were refinished and wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero tires. All rubbers and hardware were replaced with new items along with the re-installation of the original green-tinted glass. The Targa top was reupholstered in complementing dark green GAHH convertible material while the headliner was redone to exacting factory standards. The cabin reveals Black Watch tartan over black leatherette throughout. GT Classics sourced authentic wool material for the project, which was applied to all four seats and door panels along with new black leatherette and carpeting. A leather Momo steering wheel is fitted with a custom embossed horn button, while a Rennshift sport-shifter and pedal boards, leather luggage straps, radio delete, sun visors, new plastic controls, and various new trim pieces were also installed. Interested parties are encouraged to look through the extensive 150+ photo gallery to view all of the interior details. The car was originally delivered with California equipment according to the CoA, though the speedometer is a kph unit showing 67,509 kilometers (~42k miles). A handmade custom set of Italian luggage in Black Watch tartan felt was tailored specifically for this car. New perlon carpeting and ancillaries were also fitted in the front trunk. of Lincolnville Beach, Maine, including a complete rebuild of non-original 2. 7-liter flat-six. The catalytic converter is still in place and new headers were also installed. The car has been dyno-tested with results included in the extensive service file. The undercarriage reveals multiple new components. The front received new torsion bars, Bilstein sport shocks, brake discs, calipers, lines, bushings, ball joints, bearings, and more. The same goes for the rear, including restored swing arms, new adjustable spring plates, Bilstein sport shocks, brake discs, calipers, lines, bushings, and bearings. The 5-speed manual transmission is noted to shift well. An extensive service file includes restoration pictures, build receipts, dyno sheets, and more. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity is displayed above, confirming the original colors and options
