Description

This 1978 Toyota Chinook was custom built by a Toyota mechanic in The Dalles, Oregon in 1991. Originally built on a Toyota 4Ã?2 platform, this Chinook has received components from a 1980 Toyota 4Ã?4 pickup including the frame, suspension, front axle, and engine. The 20R 2. 2-liter inline-four sends power to the rear or all four wheels via a G52 five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The build was completed over the course of two years, and the truck was reportedly driven recreationally by the creator during the 1990s until it was subsequently used in car shows in the 2000s and stored when not in use. The exterior of the vehicle was repainted Metallic Walnut during its initial build in 1991. Chinook decals were sourced from Gary Lukehart, the creator of the Chinook motorhome, and they were installed at the Chinook plant in Yakima, Washington in the early 2000s. An aftermarket brush guard and front fog lights have been installed. Black-painted 15â?³ steel wheels with chrome hubcaps are wrapped in 31Ã?10. 5â?³ Wild Country Radial XTX Sport tires.
