Description
I bought this car as an unfinished project. I've always liked the A-body from 1964 to 1972 and jumped at the chance to restore another one. I wanted to keep it, but it's time to sell. The 400 is a matching number and has been rebuilt. The crank was sent out and shaved .010", block went to get honed and hot tanked. I bought new lifters ( 340.00- look it up), timing chain, etc. It runs well. The trainy was rebuilt and new exhaust installed. The brakes are brand new from master to wheel cylinders ( lines and hoses, also). The tires were new, and the car goes down the road like it should with no issues. New A/C hoses and condenser fitted along with a new radiator. The heater core was blocked off(decided to leak after a while). There is a slight leak in the A/C system and won't hold a charge. The interior was refurbished with seat covers, carpet, headliner, door cards detailed, and FM converter wired in. The passenger seat reclines and has a remote trunk opener. The body was straight with only a little rust in the usual places. I stripped the body down to bare metal, body smoothed and painted midnite blue B/C in a stock color (originally white). The bumpers were sandblasted and painted body color. New windshield, weatherstrips and vinyl top finished off the body. The car looks great. The underbody looks good and solid. I installed a new gas tank, sender and both fuel lines. I've had the car for about 4 years and drove it around 3000 miles to sort it out. I just restored a 1971 Monte Carlo SS454 and i love it! I'm 67 years old and that car maybe a little more my style. I've sold a few cars on Ebay and you should check out my history. This 442 is a solid #3 condition and we put a reasonable reserve on it.
