Description
Year:1966 Make:Ford Model:Fairlane GT Mileage:999999 There is an A/C compressor bolted on the 5.0, and stock Fairlane heater controls on the dash - but that's it. No blower fan, wiring, ducting, etc. If you wanted to drive this year round, I would see a Vintage Air unit in your future.ENGINE: Starts and runs with a turn of the key without fail. Has stalled at stoplights on occasion, perhaps this is due to it's "aggressive tune". Revs quick and smooth.TRANSMISSION: 6-Speed manual shifts crisply. Has Wilwood clutch/brake pedal unit with remote fill tanks. Have had a few drops of fluid on my toe, so one of those units needs something tightened but I couldn't figure it out. On occasion, clutch doesn't engage right away and you have to pump the pedal to get clutch to engage.SUSPENSION: Has modern rack and pinion front suspension and with coilovers on the front, replacing the old Ford shock-tower system to make room for the massive Coyote engine. This all works well, however I would say that a) the suspension is definitely tuned for handling and not comfort; b) front may need an alignment, seems at bit off at times but not at others, and c) has some creaky noises. Rear suspension is original leaf springs with air adjustable shocks; I would at least replace these with fresh leaf springs. Bunch of wheel hop if you try to dump the clutch to get some rubber.ELECTRICAL: Headlights, taillights, running lights are all new and work correctly. No high beam if you hit the floor button for brights. The wiring in the car is all new with a modern fuse block. Per the Mecum auction it has a Ford Racing performance controller and wiring harness. Optima battery mounted in trunk. There are no interior lights (aside from digital dash) - as in none installed. Dakota dash, all gauges work except speedo. You could add their PS unit or figure out how to connect to trans. Has in-dash bluetooth radio with two rear speakers. Sounds OK and you have tunes, but not a high end system for sure.FUEL: Car has a strong fuel smell. Has a new gas tank, with fuel pump and pressure regulator externally mounted near the tank.
