Description
A subsequent body-off refurbishment was carried out in 2003, which consisted of a repaint of the Plum Mist exterior, reupholstering the Parchment interior, and installing a four-speed manual transmission in place of the factory automatic. Equipment includes a Safe-T-Track rear differential, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Ivory Cordova vinyl top, 14? Rallye wheels, Wonder Touch power steering and brakes, an AM radio, a hood tachometer, and a Hurst shifter. The replacement V8 was rebuilt, bored, and stroked to 455ci in 2020, and the car was featured in the November 2020 issue of The Legend magazine. Finished from the factory in Plum Mist (M), the body was removed from the frame and placed on a rotisserie before being repainted in 2003 by GTO Goodies of Evansville, Wyoming. Equipment includes an Ivory Cordova vinyl top, a driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, and chrome bumpers, headlight surrounds, and sill guards. Optional 14? Rallye wheels are wrapped in Coker Redline Radial tires that was fitted in 2019. Wonder Touch power steering and brakes were also optioned from the factory, and the power steering system was refreshed in 2020 with a rebuilt pump and steering box. The interior was reupholstered in its factory shade of Parchment (224) vinyl with black carpets during the 2003 refurbishment. The car is equipped with front bucket seats, a full-length center console, an AM radio, faux-wood trim, and an aftermarket Hurst shifter. A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, a hood-mounted tachometer with a 5,100-rpm redline, a quartz clock, and auxiliary gauges.
