1985 Lotus Esprit Turbo

This 1985 Lotus Esprit Turbo is finished in Glacier Blue over a Blue interior and powered by a 2.2L turbo and 5-speed manual transmission. Since 2015 the car has received rebuilt carburetors and full system, new Turbo motif graphics, and refreshed interior. Modifications are limited to a set of adjustable coilovers, and the car is said to run and drive very well. This example is fitted with correct Turbo graphics in silver, which contrast nicely with the Glacier Blue paintwork. Stock mesh alloys are fitted with Vredstein Sportrac Giugiaro tires.The Series III Esprit Turbo inherited its body kit from the earlier Essex Turbo Esprit. The deep front air dam on this example shows some light scuffing on its underside, along with some scrapes on the corresponding undertray. Both pieces are free of cracks.The blue interior is in good condition with stock equipment and large center console. Some creasing can be seen on the door panels and on the dash near the center stack.The seats looks very nice with crisp pleats. Interior features are said to work correctly, though the A/C does not blow cold.1985 was the final year for the carbureted turbocharged Esprit. The car produced 215 horsepower in this trim, and breathed through a pair of 45mm Delloroto carburetors. The engine bay looks very tidy here, with intact crinkle-finish black paint on the cam covers and intake tube. Barry Spencer inspected the timing belt and noted that it is in good condition. The underside appears straight and free of major corrosion. Some marks are present where the low nose has scraped, but there is little else in the way of obvious defects. Suspension has been upgraded with Protech single adjustable coilovers.
