Description
Power comes from a modified small-block Ford V8 displacing 408ci paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a 9? rear end with a Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential. Additional modifications include front and rear coilover suspension, TCP subframe connectors, power rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, MSD ignition, front and rear spoilers, powder-coated bumpers, Shelby-style taillights, an Ididit steering column, a Painless Performance wiring harness, and a Vintage Air climate-control system. The body was refinished in black with silver LeMans-style stripes as part of the refurbishment completed in 2012. Prior to paint, the body was stripped, Shelby-style taillight panels and side scoops were installed, and corroded panels were cut out and replaced, including the floor pans and quarter panels. Additional modifications include a rear lip spoiler, a hood with a center scoop and louvers at each rear corner, a carbon-fiber front spoiler, a blacked-out front grille, and powder-coated bumpers front and rear. Boyd Coddington Junkyard Dog wheels measure 17? on the front and 18? on the rear and are wrapped in Kuhmo Ecsta all-season tires. Chassis modifications include welded TCP subframe connectors, a Rod & Custom Motorsports front coilover suspension kit, power rack-and-pinion steering, a Chris Alston’s Chassisworks g-Bar rear coilover suspension kit, and power-assisted disc brakes with a Wilwood master cylinder, drilled and slotted rotors, and Wilwood Dynalite four-piston calipers at all four corners. The interior is trimmed in black vinyl with matching carpets and door panels, a black dash, and later Mach 1-style red inserts on the front bucket seat backs. Additional equipment includes a Painless Performance replacement wiring harness, cobra-embroidered floor mats, three-point shoulder belts for the front seats, a Vintage Air climate-control system, power windows, an Ididit steering column, and a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth compatibility. The wood-rimmed Lecarra steering wheel fronts AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lite instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer, a 10k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature.
