Description
The project involved combining the body of a 1961 Land Rover 88 Series II with the chassis, powertrain, and coil-spring suspension of a 1980s Land Rover Range Rover. The engine was removed before the truck was imported to the US in April 2024 and was subsequently reinstalled. Finished in olive green, the truck features a removable hardtop, a Rhino winch, and gray wheel-arch flares. Inside, three-across Exmoor Trim USA front seats and inward-facing rear benches are trimmed in black vinyl and accompanied by a Smiths heater, an aftermarket steering wheel, and checker-plate floorboards. Power is supplied by a 3. 5-liter Rover V8 equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors and long-tube headers, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission linked with a dual-range transfer case. Further equipment includes power steering, power-assisted disc brakes, and 16â?³ Wolf steel wheels. The aluminum body panels and removable hardtop of the 88 Series II donor truck were painted olive green as part of the build. A Rhino 13,500-lb winch has been added up front, and additional details include a folding windshield, gray wheel arch flares, and checker-plate wing tops and rocker panel trim. The 16â?³ Wolf steel wheels are mounted with 235/85 General Grabber AT3 tires, and a matching spare is affixed to the rear cargo door.
