Description
This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL has been in the same family since it was purchased from a Palo Alto-based physician in 1977. Powered by a mechanically fuel injected 2. Records date back to 1967, and the car remains unmodified apart from the dealer-installed A/C and a period cassette player. After some scratching was caused on the hood by landscapers in 1979, the car received a bare-metal respray in its factory Silver Grey (180) shade at Cal West Auto Body in the Bay Area. Some small chips are present on the edges of the doors and on the front, and a small dent can be seen behind the driverâ??s door. Front and rear bumpers were re-chromed a number of years ago. A portion of the M-B star in the grill has chipped off. The black soft top was replaced in 1979 and appears to be in good condition with no rips or tears displayed in photographs. There is a little of wear on the drivers side of the soft top from being inside the boot for so long. A matching Pagoda hardtop is included with a stand and cover. Images in the gallery detail its condition, which includes some discoloration of the headliner. The interior has been well-maintained with MB-Tex upholstery and faded factory square weave carpeting. Seats may have been recovered in the past. Dealer-installed A/C and a period cassette player have been added, and the factory steering wheels wears a leather wrap. Under the hood, the 2. 5L inline-six is paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox. Servicing was conducted on the Bosch mechanical fuel injection system prior to the car being shipped from Colorado to Illinois in 2013. The fuel pump and cold start valve were replaced within the past three years, but the car has seen very little use since. Several photos in the gallery show the underside and suspension components. Records date back to 1967, and the original manuals are included along with two sets of keys. Filed under: pagoda, sl, w113
