Description
This 1974 Porsche 914 is one of approximately 1,000 Limited Edition models optioned with the M-778 “Can-Am” package and is finished in black with Sunflower Yellow accents. Power is supplied by a replacement 2. 0-liter flat-four equipped with PerTronix electronic ignition and paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Features include a removable roof panel, black vinyl upholstery, Mahle “gas burner” aluminum wheels, yellow-painted side valances, Bilstein shock absorbers, and a Web Cam hydraulic camshaft, gear, and lifters. The 914 LE was manufactured between February and April 1974 to commemorate Porsche’s success in the Canadian-American Challenge Cup racing series. Exterior features include a removable black roof panel, US-spec lighting, and black rubber bumper guards. Yellow-painted 15” Mahle “gas burner” cast-aluminum wheels feature anodized lips and are mounted with Falken Ziex ZE912 tires sized 195/65. The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette with a matching dashboard, door panels, and salt-and-pepper carpets. A four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a central 7k-rpm tachometer, a 150-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge for oil pressure and fuel level. An analog clock as well as factory gauges for coolant temperature and voltage are mounted in the center console.
