Description

This Ford â??Track-Tâ? roadster was built in the 1990s and is powered by a 2. 3-liter Ford OHC inline-four equipped with dual Dellorto side-draft carburetors and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Showcased in the July 1998 issue of Street Rodder, the car features steel and aluminum bodywork mounted on a tubular steel frame. Other highlights of the build include a track nose, Schroeder steering box, Posies front leaf spring, TCI rear coilovers, King Bee headlights, and a Halibrand quick-change rear end. The interior is upholstered in red vinyl and features a Gennie shifter along with Stewart-Warner instrumentation. A steel Model T Touring body provided a starting point for the project, which was the product of a father-and-son collaboration in Dearborn, Michigan. The body was narrowed and lengthened during the build, and the cowl vent was welded shut to accommodate a split windshield sourced from a Garwood boat. An aluminum hood and belly pans were fabricated by Ron Fournier of Shelby Township, Michigan, and the track-style fiberglass nose incorporates a chrome-finished grille constructed from brass. The car is finished in blue with white scallops outlined in red, and additional details include King Bee headlights, louvered side panels, and a cyclopean blue-dot taillight above a separate â??stopâ? light. Blue-finished 16Ã?5.
