Description

This 1964 Mercedes-Benz 230SL was converted to an electric vehicle by EV4U Custom Conversions in Shasta Lake, California. The previously installed Ford V8 was replaced with 48 LiFePO4 lithium iron phosphate batteries, dual Curtis 500-amp controllers, and an HPEVS AC dual motor paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in white over a red vinyl interior and features 14� wheels, a removable hardtop, a touchscreen stereo, an electric heating system, power brakes, power steering, and custom gauges. The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. The bodywork has been wrapped in white vinyl and the hardtop in black vinyl. A J1772 charge port is mounted above the right rear section of the bumper and features a safety interlock system to prevent vehicle operation while charging. The 14� Bundt alloy wheels are mounted with 205/75 Vitour Galaxy R1 tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted brakes and steering. A set of bright wheel covers are included in the sale. A touchscreen stereo head unit and aftermarket speakers are installed.
