Description
Power is provided by a replacement 289ci Ford V8 paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, and equipment includes a factory hardtop, LAT 70 wheels, a roll bar, and chrome engine accessories as well as a hood louvered by Von Dutch. The car has been the recipient of multiple awards, including the Tigers United 1998 Lord Rootes Trophy. A second repaint was carried out during the 1993 refurbishment in Glasurit Brilliant Ocher, which was chosen from an Opel GT paint chip. The car is equipped with a convertible top. However, the hardtop has been on since the 1990s and convertible top has not been raised in many years. Hood louvers were punched by the late Kenny Robert Howard, the artist, pinstriper, mechanic, and fabricator also known as Von Dutch. The car comes with the factory hardtop shown above, and a tonneau cover is also included in the sale. Polished 15â? LAT 70 wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxes tires. The cockpit is trimmed in black vinyl over matching carpets, and a roll bar has been added behind the front seats. This MK 1A is equipped with a walnut dashboard, a two-spoke factory steering wheel, and a clock.
