Description
This 1999 BMW 328i sedan was acquired in 2014 by the selling dealer and subsequently modified as a race car for competition in NASA and SCCA events. The car is finished in silver with a blue glow-in-the-dark livery, and the interior features a full roll cage, a Racetech seat, a Cool Suit system, an AIM digital display, an SPA fire-suppression system, and a MOMO steering wheel. The modified 2. 8-liter M52 inline-six sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a 3. 61:1 DiffsOnline limited-slip differential, and additional equipment includes 17? Apex wheels, adjustable shocks, Ground Control coilovers, Kromer Kraft exhaust headers and anti-reversion mufflers, a custom fuel tank system, and auxiliary lightning. This E46 race car won first place in the SCCA ITR class at Watkins Glen in 2016, won the E2 class in 2016 at “The Devil in the Dark” 12-hour endurance race, and was last raced in 2018 at “The Devil in the Dark” race at New Jersey Motorsport Park, where it placed second in the NASA E3 class. It is now offered by the selling dealer in New York with spare body panels, wheels, and engine, NASA and SCCA log books, service records, and a bill of sale. Aftermarket headlights and blue-tinted corner lenses have been installed, along with an aftermarket LED light bar mounted to the hood. Track blemishes are noted around the body, and a spare hood, doors, fenders, and bumpers are included in the sale. 17? Apex wheels are mounted on extended wheel studs and wrapped in Hooiser R7 slick tires.
