Description
This 1956 Fiat 600 is one of approximately 100 coupes built on the 600 platform with bodywork by Italian coachbuilder Viotti. Power is provided by a numbers-matching 633cc inline-four that was rebuilt in 2020 and is paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Founded in 1921, Viotti built special-bodied variants of production cars including several Fiat models through the 1930s and 40s. At the 1956 Turin Motor Show, Viotti introduced a streamlined two-door coupe based on the Fiat 600. Styling touches included a panoramic windshield and air intake scoops on the engine lid and rear fenders. Steel wheels wear chrome turbine-style covers which were special to the Viotti coupes and feature two-eared spinners. Also carried over was the suspension system, which incorporates an independent rear setup with coilover shocks and semi-trailing arms along with a transverse leaf spring and hydraulic dampers up front. Inside, the front bucket seats and rear bench are trimmed in pale blue and white upholstery with matching door panels. Black rubber mats line the floors, with a tan patterned rubber covering over the driveline tunnel. A set of matching tan rubber floor mats is included in the sale.
