Description

This 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger was built on October 5, 1977 at the Ontario Ford truck plant in Canada, and was delivered new to John Meegan Ford of Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania. The truck is finished in Raven Black over red knit vinyl upholstery and features power steering and brakes, swing-lock side mirrors, clearance lights, aftermarket wheels, and an AM/FM/CB radio. Power is from a 400ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Service following the selling dealer’s acquisition in fall 2020 included replacement of the fuel pump, a bent pushrod, and the the brake booster check valve as well as a carburetor rebuild. The truck features aluminum side and tailgate moldings in addition to chrome front and rear bumpers, clearance lights, swing-lock side mirrors, and tinted glass. The truck is equipped with power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes. Controls consist of a stock steering wheel, a column shifter for the transmission, and a floor shifter for the transfer case. Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, an ammeter, an oil pressure gauge, and a five-digit odometer showing just under 1,100 miles. The 400ci V8 is fed by a two-barrel carburetor and was serviced by the selling dealer with replacement of a bent pushrod as well as a carburetor rebuild and an oil change. The fuel tank was reportedly drained and the fuel pump replaced along with the check valve in the brake booster.
