Description
Sold new in California and garage kept over the past 22 years, the Red Cinnabar exterior is reported to be original and accident-free. In place of the original metric wheels, a set of custom BMW Style Five 17â?³ rims with custom center caps. The Natural Leather interior benefits from a later model stereo, euro rear headrests and re-dyed front seats. Under the hood is an S38B35 inline-six mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and a service was performed less than 1,500 miles ago. It has been off of the road since July of 2016, stored indoors on jacks, and started regularly. Euro turn signals have been added up front and the exhaust tips have been replaced with aftermarket items. The original metric size wheels have been replaced with BBS RC090/91 (Style 5) 17Ã?8 and 17Ã?9 wheels with custom center caps, and spacers. Continental rubber was installed approximately 1,200 miles ago. All four brake calipers have been rebuilt, fit with new pads, and painted Cinnabar Red to match the exterior. Further work performed to the brake and ABS system includes new pressure sensors, rebuilt booster, and replacement grommets and seals where possible. The 3. 5 liter S38 breathes through individual throttle bodies and utilizes double overhead camshafts, a dual row timing chain, and four valves per cylinder. US versions came equipped with a catalytic converter and a 9. 8:1 compression ratio. New hood padding and gas springs have been installed. The A/C system will need to be recharged and included with the sale are two cans of R-12 freon. In June of 2013, the car failed a California Smog test, a new fuel tank and hoses were installed the following year and the car passed in 2014. The driverâ??s seat has been refinished with a matching Natural Leather dye sourced from Leatherique Restoration Products. The driverâ??s seat was repaired after some broken welds were discovered, and pictures of the repair are provided in the gallery. A BMW CD43 stereo has been installed and the original unit is included with the sale. The OBC light bar is currently burnt out and a replacement is included with the sale. Under the dash, a reinforced pedal bracket has been installed and the clutch master cylinder has been rebuilt.
