Description

This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is a two-door station wagon that is finished in Nutmeg Brown Metallic over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 350ci V8 mated to a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The powertrain swap was reportedly performed during a refurbishment in 1978, and additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, independent rear suspension, dual exhaust outlets, American Racing wheels, a Hurst shifter, Summit Racing auxiliary gauges, and a push-button stereo. The Nomad wagon debuted for the 1955 model year and was the most expensive car of Chevrolet’s Bel Air model range. Features include one-piece “California” bumpers, wrap-around rear window glass, “Bel Air” and “Nomad” badging, a split-opening tailgate, and chrome trim. American Racing Torq Thurst 15? wheels are mounted with Spartan tires, and four-wheel disc brakes have been added. Independent rear suspension was reportedly sourced from a Jaguar and features two coilovers at each corner. The interior features black vinyl bench seats along with matching carpets and door panels. Amenities include a dash-mounted analog clock, a push-button stereo, Chevrolet-branded rubber floor mats, a locking glove compartment, and a Hurst shifter. A three-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring fronts a 110-mph speedometer. The odometer shows 15k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
