Description
1965 Chevy Pick up We built this truck about 6 years ago. We used new parts throughout. It is using a newer GM front chip with rack and pinion steering. From the front clip back we used 2x3 quarter inch box, We ran the exhaust through the frame rail. It dumps out just behind the cab. The rear section is Zed and holds the radiator and fuel ceil. We used an inline electric water pump to ensure proper cooling. The drive train consists of a big block Chevy 454 engine with a B&M street Blower and a Holly dual pump 750 carb. It has turbo 400 automatic transmission and a GM 10-bolt rear end with a Detroit locker and 3:73 gears. (I drove the car to shows around Atlanta for about two years. Since then it has been sitting in my collection in a climate controlled building. The body really did start out as a 1965 C-10. We purchased the cab from a cool company in the north east (forgot their name) The grill is cut down to fit the cut done to the cab. The truck sits low. You climb in. The seats pans are molded into the floor pan. It has a removable steering wheel, full gauge set, battery cut off switch, and a small NAV unit. Headlights, Taillights and Brake lights work as they should. No turn signals, top, heat, wipers or AC. The bed skins are just that "skins", there is no cargo space in the bed. New MT tires were installed with street slicks on the rear. The car actually drives well. It's light and very fast, you need to look around the blower and the low cut windshield, but once you get the hang of it, it's fine. I'm selling off all the cars I'm just not using.
