Description

This 1972 Dodge Charger is a custom build commissioned by Playboy International Enterprises, and it was used as part of a 2013–2014 publicity campaign for the company. Finished in a custom black paint scheme over a black interior, the car has a G-Force four-speed manual transmission paired with a 352ci Dodge R5P7 NASCAR V8 that has been de-tuned to accept commercially available gasoline. Other modifications include air conditioning, a roll bar, and Porsche-sourced seats as well as a coilover suspension with front control arms and a four-link setup at the rear. The build was carried out by HRE Motorcars of Freeport, New York and Serig Designs of Miami, Florida, and the car was subsequently featured in the Playboy A-Z Special Edition issue in May 2014 as well as the “Piston Head: Artists Engage the Automobile” art exhibit in Miami in December 2013. The body is finished in gloss black with matte-black accents on sections of the roof, B-pillars, front and rear fascias, rocker panels, and hood. Two matte Playboy logos adorn the rear quarter panels, and a reverse-gloss logo is featured on the hood. Additional exterior features include custom grille inserts over the headlights, welded rear fender flares, added front and rear spoilers, and dual exhaust exits. Staggered-width matte-black 18? aluminum wheels with polished Playboy-logo center caps are wrapped in 285/35 front and 335/30 rear BFGoodrich g-Force T/A tires. Disc brakes with Brembo calipers are fitted at all four corners, and the suspension has been modified with a custom front subframe and tubular control arms, adjustable coilovers up front, and a four-link adjustable coilover rear suspension. The cabin features Porsche GT3 front bucket seats wrapped in black leather upholstery with Playboy logos embossed on the headrests, custom black door panels, a custom wood center console with a chrome pistol-grip Hurst shift lever, black carpeting and floor mats with purple Playboy logos, and Playboy text on the dashboard.
