Description

This 1968 Fiat Dino Coupe was sold new in Matera, Italy and is one of 3,670 series I Coupes produced from 1967-69. The Bertone-designed 2+2 Dino Coupe was introduced at the 1967 Geneva Motor Show, a few months after the 1966 Turin Motor Show launch of the Fiat Spider by Pininfarina. This first series Dino is powered by a 2. 0L DOHC V6 paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This Dino Coupe is currently located Perugia, Italy and is offered with a clean Italian title. The white finish is a repaint completed about five years ago. This Type 135AC has bolt-on 14 Cromodora wheels with Fiat-logo center caps. Hankook Optimo tires are fitted. Options on early Dino Coupes were limited to metallic paint, leather upholstery, and a radio. The 1987cc aluminum V6 has dual chain-driven overhead camshafts and a 65° angle between cylinder banks. This engine is believed original and was rated at 158 hp when new. The Dinoplex C ignition box was replaced after a system failure common to Dinos. 0L Dinos use a Fiat-designed all-synchromesh 5-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Underbody work in 2016 included brake system testing, as well as the installation of a new exhaust system and new rear damper.
