Description
This 1987 Porsche 911 Targa has 81k miles from new and is a three-owner example that has been in the Midwest its whole life. The car is powered by a 3.2L flat-six paired to a G50 5-speed manual transmission with a hydraulically operated clutch. Strong cosmetics are accentuated a whale tail spoiler and a number of dark blue color-matched exterior piece including the wheel centers, targa bar, and targa panel. Recent maintenance includes an oil service and valve adjustment performed last month, while the front brakes received new pads, rotors, lines, and rebuilt calipers earlier this year. This 911 features a whale-tail spoiler and a somewhat unusual color-matched targa bar. The dark blue paintwork shows well in photos, though some rock chips are present on the nose of the car. A crack is present in the spoiler, which is detailed in the photo gallery below. Per the seller and confirmed by the Carfax, this 911 was involved in a minor accident in 2012 that affected the left rear quarter. The damage was repaired by Porsche of Omaha at a cost of $702.68. The repair appears to be of high quality and no mismatch in finish is visible in photos. The targa bar is color matched to the bodywork, as is the outer cover of the targa panel. This combination changes the appearance of this car rather dramatically compared to the standard black finish. The top is said to seal well. The 15â?³ Fuchs wheels are shod with Pirelli P6000 tires which have about 200 miles on them and were fitted and balanced recently. Per the option sticker the car was originally equipped with 16â?³ Fuchs. Like the targa bar, the wheels are color matched to the bodywork.Apart from a 1990s-vintage Pioneer head unit with casette deck and non-standard speakers, the interior of this 911 appears to be unmodified. The dash cap is straight and in good condition, and all interior features are said to work correctly. The A/C has been converted to r134a and is said to blow cold. The power front seats show evenly distributed cracking in the leather, while the carpets and rear seats show fairly little wear by comparison. The engine bay is tidy and retains stock equipment, while the original warning stickers are still fitted. The most recent service was last month and included a valve adjustment, new spark plugs, oil and filter change, plus a fresh air filter. The rear brakes are said to have about 50% pad life left.https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Engine-running.mp4The seller has provided a video of the car running, which can be viewed above. The underside appears straight and the original heat exchangers are still fitted. There is some normal corrosion on the exhaust, but the rest of the under body appears to be in good order.Service records are available back to about 2008 and 55k miles from Porsche of Omaha, and the seller notes that they mostly encompass normal wear items and minor fixes.Though the attached Carfax indicates that the car is black, code L347 on the original option sticker indicates that the dark blue paintwork is actually correct.
