Description
This 1992 Acura NSX has just 24k miles from new and is a two owner example that comes from the second year of production. The car is unmodified apart from a Science of Speed front license plate bracket and radar detector wiring left over from the original owner, and the 3.0L VTEC V6 is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Scheduled and preventative maintenance have been regularly performed, and the transmission was inspected and cleared of the snap-ring issues associated with this model. The second owner acquired the car in 2012 with 17k miles and maintained it fastidiously until his passing. It is being sold on behalf of the late ownerâ??s wife with a clean Carfax, the original window sticker, and a clean Wisconsin title. The paint finish shows a deep gloss and is thought to be original with no evidence of repainting or overspray reported. A few minor stone chips are apparent on the front bumper and lower air dam, and slight scuffing can be seen along the edge of the black plastic spoiler. All the lenses appear clear and free of cracks. The car wears 15â?³ front and 16â?³ rear 5-star Acura alloys shod with Bridgestone Potenza tires. The tires date to 2012 and have 7k miles of travel on them. The contours of the aluminum body panels and canopy-style greenhouse show well in profile. The interior is clean and wear appears minimal. The seller notes one hairline crack in a trim piece near the windshield glass that is a common fault in NSX interiors. A replacement part is included, though the windshield must be removed to install it. The A/C was converted to R134 in 2011 at 14k miles. The lights just below the trip odometer are left over from a radar detector that was installed by the original owner and has since been removed.Carpets appear clean and unstained, and are protected by OEM floor mats. The seat bolsters show only minimal wear. All switchgear and electronics are said to function properly including the original Bose stereo. The commonly defective rear glass struts were replaced in 2009.The mid-mounted 3.0L VTEC V6 made 270 horsepower when new and redlined at 8,000 rpm. Power is delivered through a famously precise 5-speed manual transmission. Scheduled and preventative maintenance have been regularly performed over the life of the car, including a new timing belt, brake master cylinder, and coolant hoses in April 2009 at 13,500 miles. The car was inspected by an NSX specialist and Acura dealer, and was found to be clear of the snap-ring failure issue. The underside appears very clean clean and was regularly detailed by the second owner. The pictures show almost no road dust on the underside, and the metal finishes throughout the exhaust and suspension show no little to no oxidization or corrosion. The NSX featured an aluminum semi-monocoque frame construction and double-wishbone suspension setup. The forged aluminum components appear well-preserved on this example as seen above, down to the factory paint markings on suspension bolt heads. The original spare tire, jack, air compressor, and tool kit are included. The window sticker describes the original equipment and shows a total vehicle price of $65,600. The clean Carfax can be viewed in the gallery and details maintenance performed at dealers since new, as well as consistent mileage readings. The Wisconsin registration notes an odometer reading exemption, which is applied to all cars 10 years or older titled in the state. The car is being represented by an NSX collector who notes that this is the cleanest example he has ever seen. The NSX has earned its reputation for refinement, reliability, and excellent driving dynamics. This very clean, well-sorted example in a classic color combination should provide its next owner with plenty of driving enjoyment. A video walkthrough of the undercarriage showcases the detailing of chassis and mechanicals.
