Description
The car was repainted black, and the interior was fitted with Recaro sport seats upholstered in black vinyl and microsuede along with a matching microsuede headliner, a Nakamichi CD stereo, and a GTI-style steering wheel and shift knob. A 2. 1L 16V inline-four equipped with a Haltech standalone ECU with electronic fuel injection and individual coilpacks was installed in 2013, and additional equipment includes a five-speed manual transaxle with custom gearing, a Quaife limited-slip differential, Eurosport headers, a custom exhaust, and a front strut brace. The car was fitted with a Euro GTI front end and a Golf rear panel prior to a single-stage repaint in black. A GTI-style front spoiler, grille, fog lights, rear badging, and Euro bumpers were also installed at that time and silver stripe graphics were added to the lower body. The 15â?³ Ronal R10 Turbo wheels are wrapped with Toyo RA1 tires that measure 205/50. The four-wheel disc brakes and quick-ratio power steering system were sourced from a 1988 Scirocco 16V. Vogtland coilovers have been installed at each corner and Eurosport front strut bar has been added. The cabin features Recaro front sport seats sourced from a BMW E30 and reupholstered in black vinyl with microsuede inserts and red stitching. Matching upholstery extends to the rear bench, headliner, and door panels, and the floors are covered by Dynamat sound deadening, replacement carpets, and custom mats with red edging.
