Description
One of a kind !!! This an original 38k mile car. Completely original with one repaint of a solid survivor. This car has been winning at Car Show's since the early 1970's. The interior is original and in excellent shape and has the nicest original ivory steering wheels I've ever seen in my life, the bus driver knob was installed so it won't damage the wheel. The chrome and stainless are original and nice. 1950 was the last year of expensive pot metal before they were "cheapened" in 51 due to the Korean war metal shortages. The trunk material is original and nice, even the original cardboard box for the Jack equipment is there. It runs and drive's excellent. I drove about 50 miles and it is just a joy to drive. The 1950 Series 61 is 4 inches shorter than the Series 62 and the wheelbase was also 4 inches shorter. Yet it has the same engine -- 160 horsepower, 331 cubic inches, second year of the overhead valve engine the engine bay is original. So, the Series 61 was the "hot rot" of the Cadillac line-up. A 1950 Series 61 similar to this car was entered in the LeMans race and finished 10th, which surprised everyone because it was a sports car race.
