The car is finished in light gray with a darker roof over tan cloth upholstery, and power comes from a 1,911cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. The Flaminio Bertoni-designed DS debuted on October 5, 1955, at the Paris Motor Show. The ID 19 submodel was introduced for 1957 and retailed for approximately 25% less than a contemporary DS.
