1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 Coupe 4-Speed

This 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3. 5 coupe is finished in Silver Grey Metallic over blue and features a floor-shifted, four-speed manual gearbox. A refurbishment was carried out by Palm Beach Classics in Florida between 2013 and 2017. Power is from the original M116 V8, and modifications include Behr air conditioning, Bundt alloy wheels, and an updated Becker Mexico stereo. In November 1969, Mercedes-Benz redesigned the pillarless W111 coupe and cabriolet with a re-profiled nose, a lower and wider grille, and revised bumpers with impact strips. Prep work included the removal of trim and both windshields, as well as metal repair on the lower sections of the body. A new bumper set was installed during the reassembly, while the remaining brightwork, including the grille, head and tail light surrounds, handles, mirrors, and rocker trim were reconditioned. A hairline crack is noted in the finish on the hood. Refinished 15â?³ Bundt alloy wheels are wrapped in 205/65 Michelin Defenders tires. A matching spare resides in the trunk.
