1966 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe 4-Speed

This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was acquired by the selling dealer in 2008 and modified over the following 12 years to resemble the Sunray DX Corvette that was campaigned at the 1967 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race. Finished in dark blue and white with red stripes, the car is powered by a replacement 427ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes fixed headlights with clear covers, Torq Thrust-style alloy wheels, side-exit exhaust pipes, an L88-style hood, and Recaro bucket seats. Factory-finished in Ermine White, the fiberglass bodywork has been repainted dark blue with a white upper section and red stripes and features number meatballs on both doors along with period-style decals. The front bumperettes have been removed and additional modifications include an L88-style hood, custom vents behind both front wheels, a bullet-style driver’s side-view mirror, fixed headlights with clear Lexan covers, and white-finished side-exit exhaust pipes. The 15” Torq Thrust-style alloy wheels feature gray centers with polished lips and are wrapped in 215/70 red stripe and blue stripe tires on the driver and passenger sides respectively. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs, and the car rides on front suspension with newer tubular control arms and Global West components. The cabin has been stripped, coated with red bedliner, and fitted with black Recaro bucket seats with headrests and blue lap belts. A leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a custom dashboard housing a factory instrument panel that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows just over 62k miles, around 100 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
