Description

0 liter flat-six paired to a rebuilt 915 5-speed transmission. The engine was rebuilt with Carrera 3. 2 cams and tensioners, and the suspension and brake systems were upgraded with Bilstein HD shocks and 993TT brake rotors up front. The car was repainted in its original Grand Prix White and fitted with RS front and rear bumpers, while custom bodywork was sourced from TRE Motorsports and installed by Perfect Lines. The rear soft window was custom made to fit the car, and a striking Pasha interior features many custom details. The car was stripped and repainted in its original Grand Prix White, and black racing livery was added. Custom body parts were supplied by TRE Motorsports in Van Nuys, CA and include the hood, front fender extensions, front turn signal housings and lenses, front and rear RS bumpers, and more. All of the paint and body work including the soft window frame, and extending the original front fenders to accommodate the early turn signal housings and horn grills was performed by Alex at Perfect Lines Restoration in North Hollywood. The fitment on the fenders looks good, and the inside of the rear bumper has been heat shielded near the muffler to protect the paint. Euro taillight lenses and a fiberglass rear decklid with 911R hinges were also sourced at TRE and installed by Perfect Lines. The car sits on new 17â?³ Rota Fox wheels with an RSR finish that wear Toyo R888 tires measuring 225 in front and 255 in the rear. The tires have 1,100 miles on them and show good tread left. A pair of Cibie (Pallas) rally hood lamps are mounted on the front fenders and are wired to the factory fog light switch. The H4 headlights are fitted with yellow NOS Bosch lenses. All of the carâ??s lights are fully functional. Additional exterior modifications include teardrop shaped Sebring Mach 1 side mirrors by Vitaloni that are mounted on flag mirror bases, and the rocker covers have been deleted. The exterior trim including the Targa bar, drilled door handles, and wiper arms has been powder coated satin black. All of the carâ??s rubber seals were replaced with new units. The black interior looks sharp with Pasha inserts and has seen little use since refurbishment. The early Sport S seats were supplied by GTS Classics and complemented by new premium black carpet. The RS America-style lightweight door cards are wrapped in Pasha and have black leather pull straps. The dash was restored and fitted with a perforated insert, and the center console and radio were removed. The A/C system was also deleted, though the defroster was retained and blows heated and fresh air. A new Momo Prototipo steering wheel is wrapped in black leather and has a Porsche crested horn button, and a custom made wooden shift knob by Dave Mason has a mahogany and aluminum checkered insert. The 180mph speedo was restored, calibrated, and zeroed out. All of the gauges are working properly. Underneath the decklid lies the factory 3. 0 liter flat-six engine that was rebuilt and upgraded with 3. 2 cams and 3. 2 oil fed chain tensioners. All mechanical and wiring work was carried out by Fred at Valley European Porsche service in Van Nuys. The split-case engine looks clean with organized wiring and has freshly powder coated and cadmium plated pieces. The original 915 5-speed gearbox was rebuilt and a new Sachs clutch assembly has been installed. The car is currently running a test pipe with stock heat exchangers and a modified muffler. Here is the engine before installation. A 964 fender mounted oil cooler with cloth braided airplane grade oil lines has replaced the stock unit. The distributor has been rebuilt, and a new sound pad and heater ducts have been added. New transmission mounts were installed, and the factory engine mounts have been upgraded with RSR-style lightweight mounts. The suspension has been modified for better performance with new Bilstein HD shocks, ball joints, Carrera torsion bars, and Elephant Racing adjustable sway bars in the front and rear. Turbo tie rod ends keep the wheels aligned. The brake system features 993TT brake rotors up front with new Big Reds calipers and has steel braided brake lines. The undercarriage looks dry and solid with no significant corrosion apparent. The 911 has been driven approximately 1,350 miles since the build was completed and just had its first service with an oil/filter change. Filed under: 911, 911 sc, impact bumper, impact-bumper
