1971 Lotus Elan +2S 5-Speed

This 1971 Lotus Elan +2S was refurbished and modified with a Spydercars spaceframe chassis and adjustable coilovers in the 1990s. Power comes from a 1. 7L twin-cam inline-four with a Rich Kamp tall-block kit and cylinder head linked with a Ford T9 five-speed manual transmission and a Quaife limited-slip differential. The car is further equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a Fuel Safe fuel cell, stainless-steel headers, Minilite 14� knockoff alloy wheels, Elantrikbits half shafts, and four-wheel disc brakes. A roll bar has been added to the interior, which also features black leather upholstery, Wilton Wool carpets, TRW Sabelt harnesses, a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, and a wood dashboard. Exterior details include fog lights, a bullet-style mirror, and chrome bumpers. Black-finished Minilite 14� knockoff alloy wheels are retained with three-eared spinners and are mounted with 195/60 Dunlop Direzza Sport Z7 tires. The car rides on adjustable Carrera-style coilovers up front and Spax coilovers out back, and the unassisted four-wheel disc brakes have been fitted with Aeroquip braided hoses all around. The left front wheel bearings were replaced in 2019. The cabin features bucket seats and door panels trimmed in black leather, while the center console retains a vinyl cover.
