1973 Volvo 1800ES Sport Wagon "Shooting Brake" Refurbished and well-maintained by a PhD engineer car enthusiast. Painted professionally. Exterior: Volvo "Gold Metallic" #105: Repainted in 2015 with original color. Interior: New black seats, door and cargo cards, and new carpet, with full coverage insulation underneath. 1973 was the last of only 2 model years for 1800ES (AKA P1800ES) Rare vehicle with only 8,077 total production. 2.0L B20F four-cylinder engine with Bosch mechanical D-Jetronic fuel injection, rated at 125HP. Rare and desirable M41 four-speed manual transmission with overdrive from Laycock Engineering. Gold Metallic exterior repaint in original color, with black interior. This 1973 Volvo 1800ES represents the last year of the only true production Volvo sports car, which was produced in a fastback coupe (P1800) and the sport wagon (1800ES), also called "Shooting Brake." This model was only made in 1972 and 1973, and it is very rare in that a total of only 8077 were produced, with few coming to the U.S. It is a superbly-handling, powerful 2.0 Liter fuel-injected wagon that provides both practicality and sport driving experience. This car has the highly desirable 4-speed with electronic overdrive which works perfectly. Volvo 1800's were made somewhat famous by Sir Roger Moore who drove one in the 1960-70's TV show "The Saint." The styling of this Volvo was contracted out to Frua of Italy, buy in reality, a Swede, young Pelle Pettersen, had a heavy role in its design. It is very practical, having a flip-up rear glass hatch that is held by gas pressure struts, and the rear seat folds down to provide a long, carpeted load area.
