Description
The original 4. 2-liter inline-six is paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox, and the engine, electrical system, interior, and body were gone through in the mid 1980s. Work included a repaint in non-original black and a reupholstered black leather interior. Carbs were rebuilt in the fall of 2016, and the vehicle has mostly been stored in a heated garage. Originally finished in Sable, the car was repainted black in the 1980s to a driver-level quality. Flaws are evident in the paint as detailed in the gallery, while brightwork shows pitting and has a dull finish. Chrome factory knock-off wheels show their age. Black leather seats were likely reupholstered during the 1980s refurbishment in a non-stock color. An aftermarket stereo was added, but the interior remains stock otherwise. The odometer indicates 86k miles and is believed accurate. Carbs were rebuilt on the 4. As seen in the above photo, the engine number is shown as #7R9762-9. The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate confirms the engine as original. Some rust is present underneath, with detailed photos showing the suspension and underbody condition provided in the gallery.
