Description
This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series 1 coupe finished in red over a black interior and powered by a 4. 2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. It was purchased new in January 1968 at Kansas City Motors in Missouri. A refurbishment was carried out from 2004 to 2008 by Larry West, a former JCNA judge in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Work included refinishing the body, reupholstering the interior, replacing the rubber seals, and reconditioning the chrome plating, The engine along with the suspension, fuel, cooling, and brake systems were rebuilt at this time. The color was changed from white to red during the refurbishment. Brightwork was sent out and professionally reconditioned before being reinstalled with new gaskets and seals. The four-wheel Dunlop disc-brake system received overhauled calipers and a resealed master cylinder during the refurbishment. New Boge shocks were installed in each corner, while new bushings were fitted for the control arms. The 15â?³ chrome wire wheels are wrapped in a set of 185-series Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, and a matching spare is located in the rear compartment.
