1973 DeTomaso Pantera

This 1973 DeTomaso Pantera has been with the current owner for about three years and is powered by its factory 351ci V8 paired to a 5-speed manual transaxle. The car has been modified with GT5-style bodywork, an aluminum intake manifold, Holley carburetor, upgraded cooling system with electric fans, and a new leather interior. This Pantera is a fairly early production car, though its modified styling combines elements from a number of variants. The wheel arch extensions and wing are similar to those used on the later GT5, though the front and rear treatment evoke the earliest production cars. The car wears the small split bumperettes used on early Panteras, rather than the large impact bumpers found on US-bound Panteras from mid-1972 until the end of official importation. The bumperettes are finished in black front and rear, and all of the other trim is blacked out to match.The interior has several modifications, including DeTomaso branded gauges with white gauge faces. A newer stereo head unit is fitted in the stock vertical location, and augmented by newer speakers fitted in the doors. All interior features are said to work correctly, including cold-blowing A/C. The 24k indicated miles are accurate.The upholstery was recently redone in nicely grained black leather with lighter colored stitching. The seats, door panels, and center tunnel with embossed DeTomaso logo all show well in photos.The engine is a mildly upgraded 351 Cleveland with an aluminum intake, Holley carburetor, and electronic ignition. The cooling system has been upgraded with a high flow water pump, Ron Davis radiator, electric cooling fans, and Gates Green stripe hoses.Engine #04236 is original per the chassis tag that is pictured in the gallery below.The upgraded radiator with dual fans can be seen in the front trunk. The A/C hardware, also with an electric fan, can be seen under the rear deck aft of the transaxle.
