Description

This 1986 Porsche 911 Cabriolet is a two-owner example with 53k miles from new. The seller purchased the car in 1987 and has driven it roughly 50k miles. He used it daily for two years in the late 80s before retiring it to the garage for primary use as a weekend car. It is described as stock apart from a modern stereo and a new replacement convertible top. The Kumho tires and Bosch battery are new, while regular maintenance is detailed in the included records.Outside, white paint holds a consistent shine. The hood and driver side front fender have been repainted but the seller says original finish remains elsewhere. Blemishes include scuffs on the lower valances edges and with the occasional small nicks. Body-colored Fuchs wheels wear fresh Kumho Ecstas, and their polished rims show some light spots but no notable curb marks.Panel gaps remain even and though the car has never been in an accident with another vehicle, it was run into by a pair of deer while stopped about 15 years ago. The driver side fender and hood were repaired by a Porsche-certified body shop, while the windshield and sideview mirror were replaced with factory parts. Plastic cladding and black trim appear straight other than a damaged rocker cap in the left rear wheel well. Glass is described as clear throughout, including the replacement windshield. Taillights and indicators look intact, though the rear reflector strip contains several areas of condensation and discoloration. The car retains stock pre-1987 â??sugar scoopâ? headlight buckets, and sideview mirrors wear stitched protective covers. The convertible top was replaced last month, and was sourced from Germany. The matching cover is also in good shape after the repair of a small split seam with specially-ordered thread.The carpeted trunk liner looks to be in nice condition, while the factory air compressor remains in its original case. The interior is clean and has received no reconditioning according to the seller. Both seats show light marking and fading, but little evident damage apart from a single crack on a driverâ??s outer bolster as detailed in the gallery below. The dash and door panel surfaces have held up well and carpeting remains serviceable under protective mats, though it is faded in the rear from sun exposure. The stock steering wheel, switchgear, and other controls are in good condition for their age. Instrumentation is clear and said to work correctly down to the clock. Worn heater controls have been replaced, and a 1990s sound system is reported to be the only other non-original interior item. Power windows and seats are equipped, as is an air conditioner that the seller reports to have never used.The 3.2L flat-six resides in a tidy engine bay that retains factory-applied stickers.
