Description
The car wears a repaint in orange with metallic brown and gold accents, a scheme that extends to the cabin, front trunk, and engine bay, and power is from a replacement 2,276cc flat-four that was built in June 2014 using ported DRD Racing cylinder heads, Engle FK8 camshafts, a full-flow case, and EMPI connecting rods. The rear wheels are driven through a replacement 3. 88-ratio Freeway Flyer four-speed manual transaxle, and other equipment includes dual Weber carburetors, a roof rack, 15â?³ BRM wheels, front disc brakes, a skateboard-wheel accelerator, a custom sound system, and revised instrumentation. The suspension has been lowered, including with 2â?³ drop spindles up front. Bodywork has included stripping the existing finish, soda blasting the body, fitting front and rear aprons sourced from a 1958 Beetle, repairing corrosion using metal from the same donor car, and a repaint in orange with metallic brown and gold accents. The engine lid hinges have been modified for ventilation. Features include a roof rack, gold-finished internal headlamp covers, and revised taillights. Chips are noted in the paintwork along with dings in the right side of the roof, and another in the left door. The 15â?³ BRM wheels are finished in metallic brown with gold accents, and they wear a mixture of Continental and Pirelli tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.
