Description
Finished in Carnival Red over a black interior with red piping, this Tiger is powered by a 260ci V8 that is mated to a wide-ratio four-speed manual transmission. Modifications include an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, a Pertronix ignition, and weld-on LAT Traction Masters on the rear semi-elliptical springs. Additions also include a Bluetooth-enabled RetroSound radio. Rootes Group commissioned Carroll Shelby and Ken Miles to produce prototypes of a V8-powered Sunbeam Alpine. The resulting Tiger was unveiled at the 1964 New York auto show. Tiger restorer Scott Woerth repaired the rocker and fender and refinished that side of the car. White 13â?³ steel wheels are dressed with chrome cross-hatch vented covers and are mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires showing 2018 date codes. The upper and lower steering U-joints were replaced in 2014. The flexible brake hoses were renewed in 2014, and the brake booster was rebuilt in 2019, energizing Girling disc up front and drums at the rear. A walk-around video is presented above.
