Description
The work consisted of repainting the body in yellow, installation of a new powder-coated and reinforced backbone chassis, rebuilds of the twin-cam 1,558cc engine and four-speed manual transmission, brake and fuel system overhauls, new black vinyl upholstery, and more. Modifications include a Sprint-specification camshaft, aftermarket springs, adjustable shocks and spring perches, a gear-reduction starter, a miniature alternator, and a battery cutoff switch. The fiberglass body was reportedly soda-blasted and repainted in Corvette Velocity Yellow by The Paint Spot in Addison, Illinois before being mounted on a new powder-coated and reinforced backbone chassis with a closed-cell foam insulating pad. The bumpers were refinished in silver, the door handles, trunk hinges, and window rails were re-chromed, and a new windshield, side mirror, fuel filler cap, and badging were installed. Photos documenting the work can be found on the Lotus Corps blog. Paint touch-ups are noted on the leading edges of the doors. Stock 13 steel wheels were reportedly sandblasted and repainted silver before being fitted with chrome hubcaps and Achilles tires showing 2018 date codes. A spare wheel with matching rubber is mounted under the trunk floor and can be seen in the gallery. Aftermarket springs, adjustable spring perches, and AVO shocks were installed along with new tie rod ends and rear CV joints. The steering rack and trunnions were also rebuilt, while brake work included overhauls of the master cylinder and calipers as well as installation of new rotors and braided hoses.
