1965 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Convertible

A subsequent refurbishment reportedly included an exterior repaint and interior refresh, rebuilds of the engine and transaxle, along with overhauls of the suspension, brake, and electrical systems. The exterior is finished in gray with a brown soft top over a brown and gray interior, and power comes from an air-cooled 1,384cc flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. The exterior has been repainted its original shade of Sea Sand (L568) following the installation of replacement floor pans and bodywork as necessary. A Haartz-style dark brown soft top lined with a cream-colored headliner and a matching tonneau cover were installed by Redmond’s Auto Upholstery of Augusta, Georgia. Additional features include a chrome driver-side mirror, trim, and front and rear bumpers with overriders. Polished 15” steel wheels feature matching hubcaps and are wrapped in Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The front bucket seats and rear bench have been reupholstered with brown vinyl and tweed inserts reportedly sourced from Sewfine Interior Products of Denver, Colorado. The door panels are covered in brown vinyl, and the floors are lined with Oatmeal square weave carpets. The factory Sapphire radio has been modified to pick up FM stations and utilizes a USB/MP3 adaptor as well as a power booster. A replacement speaker and antenna have also been fitted.
