Description
'70 Plymouth V-Code, Trac Pac, Dana, 4spd, B5-Blue, matching #'s, stripe delete 'Cuda. The car maintains its ORIGINAL motor, transmission, paint & interior. A little history: the header panel was removed from the car and painted sometime in the '70's, so it does not exactly match rest of car. The shaker bubble was also repainted the original silver in the '70's when owner felt it was beginning to turn slightly yellow. It has held up extremely well since then. This was originally a factory undercoat car that which the orig owner scraped clean and painted black soon after it was purchased. The underside of the hood was also painted black in '70's. There are a few touch-ups around the car worth mentioning: one is a minor repair on driver side a-pillar (see pic), and right rear quarter where orig owner backed into something in his garage some 40yrs ago causing a slight crease (see pic, but hard to see unless up close); the quarter may have been painted and I only say that because there is a slight change in how the paint is fading around that area. Then there are some random slight scratches & blemishes that have occurred throughout its life, but which are original to the car. The driver side lug nuts are also still factory left hand thread. On driver seat, there are a couple of areas beginning to split; the dash is MINT; there is small tear in headliner above driver side visor; shoulder seatbelts never down; vin plate never touched. Throughout my ownership I have made repairs to keep it completely operational. It is NOT a restored car, but maintains its' appearance as it did nearly 50yrs ago but with some replacement parts. Under the hood has been detailed. Everything has been sorted out and everything works as it should, even the clock! It burns a little oil, as most 440's did of that era; I am running 10w-30 AMSOIL (synthetic w/ zinc), and have NEVER run anything but 100 octane (race) fuel in this car since I've owned it. Per the orig owner, the carbs were replaced as a set in 1978 with a set of (correct) California 4spd carbs. I had the primary carb rebuilt, replaced the gas tank & sending unit, fuel lines, vapor separator, fuel pump, master cylinder, entire cooling system (twice), correct fan clutch, oil pan, throwout bearing, clutch disc, flexplate, & pressure plate, shocks, exhaust (last year) with Accurate pipes & mufflers accompanied by NOS resonators dated coded 8-70 (but still has original exhaust tips). The front factory disc brakes are in perfect working order. Also rebuilt the heat riser in right exhaust manifold. As with most 'Day-2' 1970's mean machines, slight alterations were made to this car (none of which could not be reversed if so desired; I left as is because it's part of the history of this particular 'Cuda). In this case the following: the coil was relocated to the pass side fender; the orig owner put 2 gauges on the firewall under the hood for easy tuning at the track (only the oil pressure one works; disconnected other); carb air switch under the dash is hooked to the choke cable, and a stewart Warner tach was placed in the lower dash and the factory tach in the rallye dash was disconnected. As I said, all works as it should and car runs great! This 'Cuda was ordered by orig owner with chrome racing mirrors and a 4.10 reared; upon delivery it arrived with body colored mirrors (hence the blue mirrors with chrome bumper) and a 3.54 geared rearend. The orig owner swapped out the 3.54 for a 4.10 decades ago which remains in the car today. 'Cuda also was delivered with same wheel setup as an AAR Cuda with bigger rear tires, but currently all tires are 235-60-15 (have about 1k on them).
