1990 Alpina B10 Biturbo

This 1990 Alpina B10 Biturbo was recently imported from Japan by the seller, where it had been part of an estate collection. Based on the e34 BMW 535i, special Alpina equipment consists of a body kit and graphics, special wheels and interior, and a modified engine with Garrett T25 turbochargers and Alpina intake and exhaust. This Alpina B10 received a new clutch, brakes and general tuneup before leaving Japan for the United States. Alpina specific bodywork includes a deep front air dam, side skirts, rear bumper extension and spoiler, along with Alpina alloy wheels. The air dam appears to remains free of cracks, and the intricate gold graphics show nicely.Since 1983 Alpina has been recognized as a manufacturer in Germany, much like their counterparts at RUF. As such the B10 Biturbo carries an Alpina-specific VIN rather than a standard BMW 535i VIN.Alpinas generally feature bespoke upholstery with unique colors and patterns. Seats and matching door panels show well, though some wear can be seen on the Alpina branded carpets. A non-standard head unit is fitted.Here is the Alpina badge showing this is car #53. Alpina made both typewriters and textiles before they started modifying BMWs, the latter of which partially inspired their special interior designs.The rear cabin appears virtually unused, and the wood trim on the door panels, dash, and console appears straight. A knob on the console gives driver-adjustable boost control, ranging from a high of 11.4PSI to a minimum of 5.7PSI. A digital boost readout is included in the instrumentation.The Alpina modifications to the M30 included a pair of Garrett T25 turbochargers, forged internals, re-machined combustion chambers, sodium filled exhaust valves and Alpina-specific intake and exhaust. When introduced these changes made the B10 Biturbo the fastest sedan in the world.
