1968 Chevrolet Corvair 500 Sport Coupe Race Car

Power is from a flat-six that has been increased in displacement to 3. 0 liters and paired with a close-ratio four-speed manual gearbox. The car is finished in yellow with black stripes and features a roll cage with door bars, front and rear spoilers, a trunk-mounted fuel cell, Kirkey fixed-back bucket seats, front and rear sway bars, uprated springs, and 15� Aero wheels. Finished from the factory in Ermine White (C), the car was repainted its current shade of yellow with black stripes during the build. The bumpers, trim, side windows, and inner taillights have been removed, and #76 roundels have been added to the quarter panels and hood. Additional modifications include rear window straps, Lexan rear quarter windows, hood pins, front and rear lip spoilers, a custom air duct on the rear decklid, an intake grille in the lower front end for the oil cooler, and brake cooling ducts in place of the inner headlights. Black-painted 15� Aero wheels feature yellow pinstripes and are mounted with 225/50 Toyo Proxes R888R tires. Braking is via front discs and rear drums. The car is reportedly fitted with uprated springs along with Crown front and rear sway bars with custom mounts and links. The stripped cabin is finished in off-white and houses a full roll cage with door bars as well as two black fabric-upholstered Kirkey fixed-back bucket seats.
