1955 Ford Thunderbird

This 1955 Ford Thunderbird is finished in black over a two-tone interior and is powered by a 292ci Y-block V8, which is backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. The black hardtop is shown above, while an uninstalled replacement convertible top canvas is pictured in the gallery. Steel wheels wear 15? covers and a matching set of BFGoodrich Silvertown whitewall tires. Equipment includes power steering and power brakes. Black and white seat upholstery (A) is accompanied by matching two-tone door panels and a padded black dashboard top. The Ford-O-Matic transmission utilizes a floor-mounted gear lever, and a period push-button radio is retained within the turned-metal dash. Additional features include powered functions for the windows and the bench seat. Instrumentation consists of a tachometer, a clock, fuel and temperature gauges, and a sweeping 150-mph speedometer with a five-digit odometer showing just under 90k miles. The 292ci V8 retains the correct 2-bolt valve covers and teapot carburetor, and was rated at 198 horsepower when new.
